Hot off the press: Single from new Canadian supergroup Mounties

I like a pop song sober in the afternoon

Mounties is a new collaboration between glam rocker Hawksley Workman, Hot Hot Heat frontman Steve Bays, and Limblifter’s Ryan Dahle. Their first single “Headphones” was released Friday evening, and don’t let that lyric above fool you, it’s a pop song in the truest sense of the word, cowbells and all. Needless to say, it has already drilled and planted itself firmly inside my head. And that video is all Canadiana nostalgia and Día de los Muertos shaken up into a martini of good times. Enjoy!

[Edited: I insinuated that Hot Hot Heat had broken up when in fact they have not.]
